JANUARY 2017 GENERAL MEETING TOPICS:
1. Top Hand Award for 2017 was awarded to Derith Rochlitz.
2. Discussed Preacher Meadows Campground as potentially becoming a horse camp in the future. Alan working out details.
3. Yolla Bolly hot shot crews plan to go in this year. There's a Mendocino approach and Trinity side approach. Kenny Graves and George Archer to contact for help if you want to participate.
4. George Archer planning a Free Clinic to learn about no trace principles. A handout was distributed at the meeting. Any questions, contact George Archer or Larry Shuman. Scheduled for April 1st, 2017 at 0900 hrs at the Bend/Bass pond parking lot, off Jellys Ferry Road.
5. Sounds like the Fish plant is a go this year. Alans Ranch in Trinity Center, sounds like the same lakes. We'll have more information coming up.
6. Norcal Sport show, coming up in March, 3rd through 5th. We could use all the help we can get. Enter off the west end of the fairgrounds. You'll have free access.
7. October general meeting/Dinner ride is in the planning stage. We would like to have a trail ride on the same day, then meet for dinner and the meeting. Also we will be asking for elections during this meeting. The state needs to know who is who before January.
8. Its possibility that the 2018 Rendezvous will be held at the Rolling Hills Casino down out of Red Bluff. Won't have much information until the state leaders tour the facility and approve it. We'll keep you posted.
9. Trails rides will be scheduled through out the year, depending on the activity or the unit and/or the weather.
10. Arnie will be in charge of the PCT. Always looking for volunteers to help out.
11. Ken Hartman, who works for the Parker Ranch, invited us to ride for a fund raiser for the Shasta Land Trust. A ride on May 7th and another Nov. 5th.
